KARIMNAGAR, JULY 05, 2024: Students of Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, enthusiastically participated in the mehendi competitions organised by the school management as part of the Ashadam month celebrations on Friday.
Ashadam month, which is considered as the auspicious with the traditional festival season including Bonalu in Telangana state and other festivities in the country, the students of Alphores celebrated the mehendi festival with zeal. The girl students arrived in their best attire and participated in the mehendi competitions of designing different varieties on the palms, hands and feet. Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy formally inaugurated the competitions.
On this occasion, Mr Narender Reddy said that mehendi albeit henna or gorintaku is applied by the girls and womenfolk during this Ashadam season, the advent of monsoons. As per Ayurveda, it is stated that applying mehendi would protect the people from the infections and skin diseases due to arrival of monsoons.
During this Ashadam month, the girls and womenfolk wear mehendi on their hands and feet. The reason behind this belief is that due to seasonal changes, there will be some chances of skin diseases. At that time, mehendi will help avoid these skin problems. Apart from the health aspects, the mehendi also adds beauty to the hands and feet, he said and added that of late latest Arabic and Rajasthani and floral design designs of mehendi have become very popular.
