KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 14, 2024: Children’s Day is a much-anticipated event in schools across India, celebrated with a blend of fun, learning, and heartfelt tributes to childhood. On November 14th, schools transform into hubs of festivity to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who believed that children are the foundation of a strong nation.
The day at Vivekananda Residential School, Karimnagar began with a special morning assembly, where teachers took the lead by presenting cultural programmes— through skits, songs, or dance performances—to entertain and delight the students. It was a touching role reversal that reinforced the bond between students and teachers, emphasizing that teachers, too, celebrate the spirit of childhood. The presence of the alumnus, Dr. Nikhil Chandra Boddana, Anesthetist and Dr. Alekhya Gurram, Opthalmologist added grace to the event. Mr. M. Hariharaprasad, Rotarian and Correspondent of the school was present to welcome the guest. The highlight was when one of the teachers visited the students as Chacha Nehru.
Co curricular activities for children were conducted for the students at different levels. Students participated actively in the competition. The Fancy dress competition of the 1st and 2nd class children was fun filled and entertaining. The students of Class 3 to 12 also participated in various art and craft competitions, talking events and Treasure hunt.
Under the guidance of the Principal, Mrs. Renuka Balivada the special day of children went on to make the children feel celebrated. The Chairman Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polasani and Dr. Lalitha Kumari Director (Academics) expressed their heartfelt wishes to all the children and appreciated teachers for taking time to lighten the mood and setting the right time for children’s day.
