
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 04, 2025: Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar has said that they would replace aluminium utensils with stainless steel utensils to cook and serve food to the students of residential schools and hostels in the Telangana state.
The Minister visited the Telangana social welfare school in Alugunur on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Monday, and he ate breakfast along with the students. On this occasion, he formally launched the cooking of food in steel utensils distributed to the residential school and inspected the cooking process.
Later, at a meeting, the Minister directed the officials to ensure that all the students were administered albendazole tablets as part of the National Deworming Day on August 11.
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Secretary Dr Alugu Varshini said that they had launched the cooking of food in steel utensils in Karimnagar, and within three months, they would cover all the hostels in the state. She appealed to the students to utilise phone mitra if they have any problems for the redressal of the same. Collector Pamela Satpathy, Tahsildar Srinivasa Reddy, residential School Principal Srinivas Reddy and others were also present.
