KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 02, 2026: SRR government Arts and Science college principal Prof Kaluvakunta Ramakrishna, a renowned local literary figure, has been conferred with the “Matrubhasha Ratna” (Gem of the Mother Tongue) Award by the “Shabda Pratibha Bahu Kshetriya Foundation, Nepal.”
The President of the Foundation, Anand Giri Mayul, and Secretary Manju Khare, stated in a press release that the award was presented in recognition of his multifaceted talent as a poet, writer, speaker, and researcher, and for his significant contributions toward the development and promotion of the mother tongue.
The award was formally presented at a recent special programme by the Vice-Chancellor of Satavahana University, Prof. U. Umesh Kumar, to Mr Kaluvakunta Ramakrishna.
Earlier, Mr Ramakrishna has received several prestigious honours, including the Bharat Bhasha Bhushan, Indira Gandhi NSS National Award, Alishetty Memorial Award, and Telugu Tejam Award, among many others.
On this occasion, literary figures such as Nalimela Bhaskar, Gandra Lakshman Rao, Annavaram Devender, Kotha Anil Kumar, Gajula Ravinder, Gajoju, K.S. Anantha Acharya, and Nandi Srinivas congratulated him, expressing that this recognition would serve as an encouragement to contemporary poets.
The Head of the Telugu Department, Burla Chandrasekhar, along with Venkateshwarlu, Srinivas, Prakash, TGC GTA State General Secretary Kadaru Surender Reddy, Staff Club Secretary Srinivas Reddy, Satya Prakash, Vice-Principals Nithin, Rajayya, and Harjot Kaur, also expressed their happiness and extended their heartfelt congratulations on this achievement.
