

PEDDAPALLI, AUGUST 2025: The irrigation authorities had lifted the flood gates to release surplus waters from the Sripada Yellampalli Project in Ramagundam mandal of Peddapalli district from Saturday evening and continued till Sunday morning following the release of flood waters from the Kadem project in the neighbouring district.
On Sunday morning, the irrigation authorities released about 53,750 cusecs in the downstream river Godavari by lifting 10 gates out of 62 gates.
Presently, the project is having 18.1471 tmcs of water against its storage capacity of 20.175 tmcs. The project is receiving 43,877 cusecs of water and outflow is 13,016 cusecs through Nandi pump house 12,600 cusecs, HMWSB 286 cusecs, NTPC 121 cusecs. As of now, all the flood gates are closed.
