An agreement was reached between the Recognised Union and Management in the presence of the Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner
HYDERABAD, JULY 25, 2025: The Singareni management has, in principle, agreed to reinstate 43 Junior Mining Engineer Trainees (JMETs) who were earlier terminated for various reasons. An agreement in this regard was reached on Thursday between the recognised union, Singareni Collieries Workers Union, and the Singareni management at the office of the Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Vidyanagar, Hyderabad.
Previously, these JMETs were terminated due to reasons such as unauthorised absence and failure to submit the required certificates. However, the recognised union, Singareni Collieries Workers Union, raised the issue of reappointment of these trainees on humanitarian grounds during the Director (PA&W) level constructive meeting held in November 2024 and again during the Chairman-level constructive meeting held in March this year.
Following discussions in the 51st constructive meeting held at the Director (PA&W) level on June 27, a bilateral understanding was reached. Subsequently, after further discussions between union representatives and management in the presence of the Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, a tripartite agreement was finalised.
The agreement meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) D. Srinivasulu, Director (PA&W) Gautham Potru, GM (CPP) A. Manohar, GM (Personnel) Kavitha Naidu, HOD (MS) Ravi Bojja, on behalf of the Singareni management, and Union President Vasireddy Seetharamayya, General Secretary K. Raj Kumar, leaders K. Veerabhadrayya, M. Sammayya, Maddi Ellayya, and Y.V. Rao on behalf of the recognised union.
Highlights of the Agreement
- The 43 terminated Junior Mining Engineer Trainees being reappointed will be considered as fresh appointments.
- All the candidates will have to appear before a High-Power Committee constituted by the company to submit their service-related documents, Overman Certificate, Gas Testing, and First Aid Certificates. Thereafter, as per the committee’s recommendations, they will have to undergo medical fitness tests, based on which provisional appointment orders will be issued.
- Upon rejoining, they must mandatorily attend duties for a minimum of 190 muster days in their first year of service.
