KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 30, 2026: A seven-day NSS Special camp organised by SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar town successfully concluded at Kokkerakunta and Vannaram villages on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Monday with the presentation of a cultural programme on drug abuse and other social evils by the volunteers.
The camp was organised under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers B Elizabeth Rani (unit 3) and K Arjun (unit 1). During the camp, volunteers planted saplings and a cleanliness drive was taken out with the village residents also participating. On the concluding day, the students organised a rally to spread awareness on drug abuse and called on the residents to cooperate with those fighting this menace and lead a healthy life.
The programme was attended by College Principal Prof K Ramakrishna, who appreciated the service spirit of the students. Chief Guest E Manohar, NSS Coordinator of Satavahana University, delivered an inspiring speech about the role of youth in social service.

Village Sarpanches Jadi Sharada (Kokkerakunta) and Om Prakash (Vannaram), along with Upa Sarpanches Kumar and Laxman, attended the programme.
As part of the camp, socio-economic and medical survey reports of Kokkerakunta and Vannaram villages were submitted. A total of 235 families were covered in Kokkerakunta village, and 189 families were covered in Vannaram village through a comprehensive survey.
The programme officers were appreciated by the guests and Vice Principals P. Nithin Patak, T. Rajaiah, and Kadaru Surender Reddy.
Senior faculty members of S.R.R College, including Madhu Rajesh, B. Chandrashekar, B. Naresh, M. Venkateshwarlu, J. Ramesh, V. Srinivas, Narmada, and other faculty members participated in the programme. All NSS volunteers of Units 1 and 3 actively took part.
Cultural programmes were conducted afterwards, where students showcased their talents excellently.
