

WARANGAL, FEBRUARY 28, 2025: Students of Zilla Parishad High School, Vanchanagiri, Warangal district, celebrated National Science Day to commemorate the discovery of ‘Raman Effect’ by Indian Physicist Sir CV Raman on Friday (February 28, 2025).
Participating as Chief Guest, District Science Officer Katla Srinivas said: “Dr CV Raman was one of the most distinguished scientists who forged the research talent of modern Indian scientists at the international level, and it was a great honour for Indian to receive the Nobel Prize in scientific discoveries”. He said that Sir CV Raman had created history as the only Asian to receive the Nobel Prize in science.
Presiding over the programme, the Principal of the ZPHS Anisetty Kamala, said that the government had declared February 28 as National Science Day in recognition of the immense services rendered by CV Raman in Physics and his discovery of the Raman Effect on this day in 1928. He said that the students should take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government and grow into great scientists.
On this occasion, the chief guest released a pamphlet and self-study materials on scientists prepared by science teacher Katanguru Ramgopal Reddy. Students were given away for their performances in various competitions. School teachers K Madhukar, K Haimavathi, MD Salim Pasha, S Dilip Kumar, K. Lakshmaiah, M. Krishna and others were also present.
