School students get practical knowledge of election process

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 05, 2024: Students of Arvintree High School, Vasudeva colony, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar town got first-hand experience of democracy as an election festival was organised on the school campus on Friday to elect the heads of Students’ council i.e the Head Boy and the Head Girl to carry out the responsibilities in the year 2024-25 session.

The process included — the nomination, presentation of the manifesto, campaigning by the nominated candidates followed by voting by students. The process began with the nomination for the Head Boy and the Head Girl from all the three houses viz Elixir, Cosmos and Oasis of the school. Students from classes VI to X participated in voting to select their favourite candidates. Some of the students acted as police regulating the queue lines. Live reporting by the students’ media and the coverage of the whole process created an atmosphere of enthusiasm on the campus. Counting of votes would be conducted on Saturday and declare results.

School chairman B Ramana Rao, Correspondent B Vijayalakshmi, teachers also participated in the election process by casting their votes. “The students were elated to learn not only about the election process in a creative method, but they also came to know about winning the trust,” added Mr Rao.
