HYDERABAD, JUNE 16, 2025: As part of Singareni’s business expansion strategy, CMD Sri. N. Balram has directed officials to expedite the ongoing projects and activities, warning that delays in execution will not be tolerated.
During a video conference held on Monday from Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad, Mr Balram held an extensive review with concerned officials on 28 different projects being taken up under the company’s business expansion plans. These include solar power, wind power, battery storage, geothermal energy, green hydrogen plants, production of critical minerals, establishment of joint ventures, methanol production from carbon dioxide, surface coal gasification, underground coal gasification, and others.
He noted that preliminary studies have been completed for some projects, MoUs have been signed for others, and a few are currently under study through external agencies. Stressing the critical need for these diversification efforts for Singareni’s future, he urged departments to speed up all related activities. After hearing reports from department heads, he expressed dissatisfaction with the delays and instructed that visible progress must be shown in all projects within the next 10 days.
He further clarified that moving forward, weekly reviews will not be limited to coal production but will also focus specifically on business expansion projects.
Mr Balram emphasised that the management of Singareni, along with the state and central governments, is positively inclined toward the company’s diversification initiatives. He stressed the need to make the most of this favourable environment and fast-track the implementation of business expansion activities.
The meeting also included detailed discussions on rooftop solar power installation over offices and quarters as per Government of India guidelines, establishment of coal washeries, and implementation of hydraulic conveyors.
The review meeting was attended by Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao, Director (Operations) L.V. Suryanarayana, Director (Projects & Planning) K. Venkateshwarlu, Director (Personnel) Goutham Potru, Executive Director (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, GM (CPP) A. Manohar, GM (Marketing) N.V. Rajasekhar Rao, and General Managers from 20 departments including Singareni Thermal Power, Solar Power, Research & Development, Civil, and Business Development.
