KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 09, 2026: Sankranti celebrations were held grandly at the St George Nino’s Blocks (CBSE) located in Rekurthi, Vidyanagar, and Teegalaguttapalli, Karimnagar town on Friday.
Chairman of the institutions P Fathima Reddy, participated as the chief guest and inaugurated the festivities by lighting the lamp. The event brought the essence of rural harvest traditions. The school campuses were filled with a festive atmosphere as the students created colourful rangolis with attractive designs. Later, Bhogi (bonfires) were lite and the students in their traditional attire placed ‘Gobbemmas’ on the Rangoli and celebrated the festival by flying kites.

The students donned the characters of Godadevi and Lord Ranganatha, Haridasu and Gangireddulu. The chairman and teachers participated in the pouring of ‘Bhogi pandulu’ on the tiny tots, as is a ritual during the Sankranthi festival.
