WARANGAL, FEBRUARY 22, 2026: “Telugu language is greater than all the world languages,” said Member of the Legislative Council from the Teachers’ constituency representing Warangal, Nalgonda, and Khammam districts, Pingili Sripal Reddy.
Participating as the chief guest at the three-day “Shatavadhanam” program hosted by the Telugu Department of Kakatiya University in association with Kakatiya Padya Kavita Vedika, in celebration of the university’s Golden Jubilee, held in the University Senate Hall on Sunday, Mr Reddy emphasized the unique literary heritage of the Telugu language, particularly highlighting the Avadhana technique. “It is our collective duty to safeguard the Telugu language and uphold its richness,” he asserted, noting the significant impact that students have on the language and how their engagement enhances mental maturity.

He described Avadhana as a bold method to reveal the knowledge within us and advocated for a respect for diverse tastes in scholarship, urging, “We keep the language vibrant.” Participating as the guest of honour, KU Registrar Prof V. Ramachandram remarked on the historical popularity of the Avadhana process, pointing out that Warangal has long been a hub for poets and the arts, marking poetry as foundational to this practice. He praised the initiative to organise “Shatavadhanam” during the Golden Jubilee year. In his address, Prof. Mamidala Istari, the Dean of Student Affairs, spoke of the beauty and significance of the Telugu alphabet. Chirra Raju, a member of the KU Executive Council, stressed the importance of concentration-enhancing programs like Shatavadhanam, especially in the age of artificial intelligence.
He described Shatavadhanam as a remarkable literary method that showcases the intelligence of Telugu to the broader world. Renowned poet Girija Manohar Babu highlighted the necessity of introducing the Avadhana process to the youth, while Marumamula Dattatreya Sharma celebrated Shatavadhanam as a literary genre that has garnered notable recognition for Warangal. Narumanchi Anantha Sharma likened Avadhana to the art of honing the arrows of poetry. Gattu Mahesh Babu also spoke on the occasion. Shatavadhani Chepuri Sriram captivated the audience with his remarkable intellect showcased during the ‘Shatavadhanam’ performance. The President of Kakatiya Padya Kavita Vedika, President Kandi Shankaraiah, Karre Sadashiva, along with over a hundred scholars, literature enthusiasts, students, and special guests, were present.
