
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 06, 2025: The birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Professor K. Jayashankar, a symbol of Telangana’s pride and a beacon of the statehood movement, was grandly celebrated on Wednesday under the auspices of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women’s NSS Unit in Vemulawada. The event was organised in a manner that inspired students and instilled a sense of purpose and awareness within the campus.
On this occasion, the College Principal, K. Lavanya, offered floral tributes to Professor Jayashankar’s portrait and paid heartfelt homage. Speaking at the event, she stated, “Professor Jayashankar was the driving spirit behind the second phase of the Telangana movement. He dedicated his life to guiding the youth and strengthening the movement through the field of education. Students should draw inspiration from such great personalities and strive to serve society,” she remarked.
The programme was graced by the College Vice Principal, Mrs. B. Sumalatha, NSS Program Officer Mrs. V. Swapna, Advisory Council Members Mrs. G. Swapna and Mrs. G. Rajini, along with teaching, non-teaching staff and a large number of students.
The celebrations not only deepened the students’ understanding of Telangana’s movement history but also infused them with renewed energy and a sense of social responsibility.
