Essential supplies like needles, medicines, and even cotton are unavailable.
The State government has failed to properly utilise Central funds.
Jammikunta Railway Station will soon be modernised.
Funds will be approved for the construction of a sports stadium.
Medical equipment provided to government hospitals will be taken back if not used properly
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 24, 2025: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed concern that people are losing trust in government hospitals. He said that in many hospitals, even needles, medicines, and cotton are not available. He criticised the State government for failing to properly utilise the massive funds released under the National Health Mission by the Narendra Modi government for strengthening government hospitals.
The Union Minister, along with Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpati, visited the Jammikunta Government Hospital on Monday. He handed over medical equipment worth nearly ₹1 crore to the hospital. They jointly inaugurated the services. Later, he interacted with patients to understand the medical services being provided. He held a meeting with doctors and enquired about the issues in the hospital. Speaking to the media afterwards, he said…
The Government hospitals are visited mostly by poor and middle-class people. They cannot afford treatment in private hospitals. Keeping this in mind, the Narendra Modi government is providing large-scale funds to government hospitals under the National Health Mission to instil confidence among people about healthcare services. Unfortunately, the State government is not using these funds properly. When people go to hospitals, they find no needles, medicines, or cotton. As a result, people have lost trust in government hospitals, he alleged.
He stated that he had donated several medical equipments to Jammikunta Community Health Centre, including an ECG machine, ultrasound scanning machine, autoclave operation, diathermy machine, anaesthesia, emergency recovery trolley, syringe pump, etc. With this, all facilities have now become available at the Jammikunta hospital. Soon, an X-ray machine from MPLADS funds would be donated to the hospital, he maintained.

On the issue of check dams collapsing
Check dams are being built not for people or farmers, but for commissions. Both the previous government and the current government are continuously paying bills to big contractors. They are taking commissions and doing poor-quality works. As a result, check dams are collapsing. For the last six months, complaints have been coming in that check dams are being built without planning or quality. Nothing is being done about it. Previously, check dams collapsed in Sircilla and Karimnagar districts as well.
If the Congress government has sincerity, it should conduct an inquiry into the collapse of check dams and take action against those responsible. The contractor’s properties must be seized. Only then will they fear doing substandard work. But the Congress government is only focused on commissions. Those who worked as foot soldiers for BRS are being given good postings after taking money. Even BRS leaders have realised this and are paying money to get postings.
Proposals are being prepared for the construction of a sports stadium and the modernisation of Jammikunta Railway Station. These two works will be completed soon, he stated.
