JAGTIAL, SEPTEMBER 17, 2025: The National Service Scheme of the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, organised a Pre-NSS Foundation Day and NSS Awareness Programme on Wednesday.
The chief guest of the programme was K. Murali, retired Principal, recipient of the State Best NSS Officer Award and the State Best Teacher Award. Addressing the students, he explained the origin of NSS and its main objectives. He stated that NSS inculcates leadership qualities, promotes service-mindedness through various activities such as Swachh Bharat, voluntary service, and Haritha Haram (green plantation programme), and inspires future generations. He emphasised that every student should study with responsibility and achieve their goals.
College Principal K Ramakrishna said that NSS contributes to the all-round development of students, and during student life itself, it nurtures service spirit, dedication, and leadership qualities. Therefore, students should join NSS units in the college and make the best use of the opportunity.
Later, students entertained the audience with cultural programmes. On this occasion, the pens were distributed to the participants of Food festival. NSS Programme Officers Srilatha, N Sangeeta Rani, D Sujatha, In-charge Principal Pramod Kumar, SKNR principal Ashok, NSS nodal officer A Srinivas, Neeraja, and the teaching faculty participated in the event.
