Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar lays the foundation stone for the SUDA office along with its chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 11, 2025: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar was ‘insulted’ by not being invited to the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a permanent office for the Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA) and a commercial complex building in Karimnagar town on Monday.
Born and brought up in Karimnagar town, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar started his political career as an NSUI activist during his SRR college days, to being elected as Karimnagar MP in the year 2009 and now the Minister for Transport. But, it was shocking to note that he was not invited by the SUDA or district authorities for the official ground-breaking ceremony in Karimnagar town.
Incidentally, Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar participated in the foundation laying ceremony along with SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy and others. But, a native of Karimnagar town, Ponnam Prabhakar, was not invited for the programme, and there were neither any vinyl posters to welcome him in Karimnagar town.
Though SUDA chairman Narender Reddy had stated in his social media post that he had invited in-charge Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar, Union Minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others, but the sources said that the SUDA chairman had not invited Ponnam Prabhakar, despite him being a resident of Karimnagar town, and also Minister in the state cabinet.
The supporters of Ponnam Prabhakar have expressed anger against the SUDA chairman and for raising regional politics in the integrated Karimnagar district and distancing the Congress party rank and file.
