
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 10, 2025: In another inspiring move, Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has announced donating his one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund as a measure to support to the country’s Armed Forces who are fighting bravely to protect the country’s frontiers and eradicate terrorism.
Following a call given by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who had announced donation of his one month’s salary for the National Defence Fund, the Minister Ponnam Prabhakar had announced the donation of his one-month salary. Similarly, Choppadandi legislator Medipalli Satyam has announced the donation of his one-month salary for the National Defence Fund.
In a post on X, Revanth Reddy wrote: “As an Indian first, I have decided to make a very modest contribution of one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund for the efforts of our country’s brave Armed Forces to wipe out terrorism and safeguard our borders & people. I have requested all my colleagues and party peers, as well as well-meaning citizens, to join in this drive. Let us all stand together, as one, with our forces till our most decisive moment of triumph. Jai Hind!”
Following the Chief Minister’s lead, cabinet ministers, Congress MLAs, and MLCs promptly declared their intent to donate their salaries as well. Soon after, Congress MPs from the state also joined the initiative. The gesture has been lauded as an expression of gratitude and support for the armed forces, particularly during Operation Sindoor, which has been hailed as a landmark counter-terrorism mission. Party sources indicated that Congress leaders hope this initiative will inspire citizens across the state and the country to contribute and express solidarity with the forces safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security.
