
HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 07, 2025: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Hyderabad, along with Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) and DPD units, celebrated the 150th anniversary of India’s national song “Vande Mataram” with patriotic zeal on Friday.
Officers and staff participated in a collective singing of “Vande Mataram” and organized cultural activities within the office premises to honour the song’s timeless message of unity and devotion to the motherland. CBC Hyderabad staff artists also presented a vibrant dance performance as part of the nationwide commemoration.
Smt. Shruti Patil, IIS, ADG, PIB Hyderabad, highlighted that the Union Cabinet had approved nationwide celebrations on 1st October 2025 to reconnect citizens with the original, revolutionary spirit of the song, ensuring its legacy is embedded in the hearts of future generations.

The year 2025 marks 150 years since Bankim Chandra Chatterji composed “Vande Mataram”, first published on 7th November 1875 in the literary journal Bangadarshan as part of his novel Anandamath.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long celebration from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Officers and staff of PIB Hyderabad, CBC Hyderabad, DPD, and CBFC joined the programme by watching the live telecast, participating in the nationwide celebration of “Vande Mataram 150”, and celebrating patriotism and unity across the country.
