NEW DELHI, JANUARY 30, 2026: The Perini Shiva Tandavam performed by Telangana artists at the Red Fort in the national capital captivated the people of Delhi on Friday afternoon.
The Telangana artists presented the Perini dance as part of Bharat Parv–2026 at the lawns near Gyan Path, opposite the Red Fort in Delhi. Traditionally performed in honour of Lord Shiva before warriors set out for battle, Perini is also known as the “Dance of Warriors.” This classical dance form dates back nearly 800 years and originated and flourished in Telangana during the Kakatiya dynasty.

As part of the Republic Day celebrations, cultural programmes are organised every year at Gyan Path. Under the leadership of the Telangana Department of Culture, artists staged this impressive performance. Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Dr Shashank Goel personally witnessed the performance and later congratulated the artists for their outstanding presentation.
