KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 20, 2026: Dr Sunil Dachepalli, Senior Consultant Orthopaedic, Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, has advised people not to neglect knee and joint pains and undergo robotic or non-robotic surgeries for the early cure of arthritis.
Arthritis, once known as a disease of the elderly, is now striking Indians as early as their mid-thirties. According to experts, changing lifestyles, long working hours, obesity, and cultural habits are causing an alarming rise in early knee arthritis across India.

Dr Sunil, a leading Knee Replacement Surgeon and Joint Pain Specialist from Yashoda Hospital, explains, “In India, we are seeing more patients in their 30s and 40s complaining of knee pain and stiffness. This used to be rare, even a decade ago.”
Talking to newsmen at Yashoda Health Centre in Karimnagar town on Tuesday, Dr Sunil said that Robotic-assisted Knee Replacement Surgery represents the latest breakthrough in joint care. Using 3D mapping and robotic precision, surgeons can plan and execute procedures with millimetre-level accuracy. “The robotic system allows us to customise the surgery for each patient. The result is better implant alignment, less blood loss, faster recovery, and longer implant life — often lasting 25 years or more,” he explained. “With robotics, knee replacement is no longer a desperate measure — it’s a precise and permanent solution,” adds Dr Sunil. He also said that the Yashoda hospital during the last two years had conducted more than 2,300 knee replacement surgeries, including over 1,000 through robotics.
Modern robotic knee surgery now offers lifelong relief to those who truly need it, but prevention remains the best cure. “Your knees carry your life — treat them with the same care you give your heart,” concludes Dr Sunil of Yashoda Hospital.
Dr Sunil also said that the injections of the lubricating substance hyaluronic acid are not a complete cure for knee joint pains, and it may aggravate further and become a costly affair too. He informed the people to go in for knee replacement surgeries through robotics, which is precise and results in less stay in hospital and less pain during physiotherapy.
Stating that Hyderabad has emerged as the Medical Hub of the country, he advised the people to go for robotic surgery if they had any joint pains for better and permanent relief from the pains. He also said that more than 3 lakh knee replacement surgeries were being conducted in the country.
