
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 25, 2025: An orientation programme was organised for the newly enrolled NSS volunteers of Vivekananda Degree and PG college in Karimnagar town on Monday.
The orientation programme started with Principal Ch Srinivas addressing the gathering. He apprised the volunteers about the motto, the importance, purpose and objectives of the NSS symbol honour badge, the role and duties of the volunteers, as well as the activities carried out by it. The volunteers were asked to regularly maintain a hard copy of the NSS work record whenever the activities were conducted and submit the same as and when asked by the programme officers.
Satavahana University NSS coordinator E Manohar explained the objectives of NSS to familiarise the students with community service along with the academic activities and to expose them to the realities of life, and bring about a change in their social perception, and make them socially responsible. The motto of the NSS (National Service Scheme) is “Not Me but You” reflecting that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society as a whole.
College NSS programme officers Dhanapuri Sagar and B Mahesh presented the activities planned for the academic year. ACO B Sampath Kumar, AO B Sravan Kumar, NSS former programme officer Gopi Krishna and others were also present.
