HANAMKONDA, APRIL 09, 2026: The Department of Food & Nutrition, Vaagdevi Degree & PG College (Autonomous), Hanamkonda, successfully organised Nutri Vision 2026, a two-day conference focusing on innovations and emerging trends in Food, Nutrition and Health at the MBA Auditorium. The conference brought together academicians, researchers, faculty members and students from various life science disciplines to deliberate on recent developments in food science, nutrition and health.
The inaugural session was conducted under the Chief Patron Ch. Devender Reddy, Founder & Secretary Cum Correspondent, VES. The programme was presided over by A. Sheshachalam, Principal, Vaagdevi Degree & PG College and President, Nutri Vision–2026. On this occasion, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between A. Sheshachalam, Principal, Vaagdevi Degree & PG College, and Ram Konduru, Co-Founder, IMMUNIS IP, marking the beginning of academic and industry collaboration.
The Chief Guest, Prof. N. Ramaswamy, Professor (Retd.), Department of Biotechnology, Kakatiya University, Warangal, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of biotechnology and emerging technologies in strengthening food systems and achieving nutritional security.
The technical sessions of Day One included a talk by Ram Konduru, Co-Founder, IMMUNIS IP, on the topic “From Idea to Ownership: The Power of Intellectual Property.” This was followed by another session on “Foundations of Dietetics: Bridging Classroom Learning with Clinical Practice” delivered by Saritha Sree, Senior Consultant Dietitian. The first day concluded with active student participation in poster presentations, showcasing innovative ideas in food and nutrition.
On the second day, the Chief Guest K. Rajender Rao, Scientist ‘F’ & Head, Animal Facility, ICMR–National Institute of Nutrition, delivered an expert lecture on “Diet–Gene Interaction: Epigenetics,” enlightening students about the relationship between genetics, nutrition and health. The second technical session was delivered by Sabitha Yadam, CEO, Ciencia Labs LLP, on “Precision Nutrition in the Age of AI: From Genomics to Personalized Diets.”
Following the technical sessions, several student-centered events were organized, including Cooking Competition, Food Stall, Oral Presentation and Idea Pitching, encouraging innovation, creativity and practical learning among students.
The valedictory session was conducted on 8th April and was presided over by A. Sheshachalam, Principal, Vaagdevi Degree & PG College and President, Nutri Vision–2026. Ch. Viswambhar Reddy, CEO, VIIC Graced the occation and distributed prizes to winners of various competitions, and the session concluded with remarks highlighting the importance of emerging technologies in food and nutrition.
The programme was organized by G. Vikram, Convener and Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, with M. Lakshmi Pujitha, Co-Convener, Department of Food & Nutrition. The event coordination was supported by faculty coordinators M. Sravanthi and G. Soujanya. The conference concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, making Nutri Vision 2026 a meaningful platform for academic interaction and knowledge sharing in the field of food and nutrition.
