NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 26, 2026: In line with the vision of Sahkar se Samriddhi, the second meeting of the National Level Coordination Committee (NLCC) was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation. The meeting focused on expediting the formation and strengthening of 2 lakh new Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (MPACS), Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS), and Fishery Cooperative Societies (FCS) across panchayats and villages throughout the country. The deliberations underscored a strong collective resolve to ensure timely and effective implementation of this nationwide initiative aimed at deepening grassroots cooperative structures.
During the meeting, NABARD, NDDB, and NFDB delivered detailed presentations reviewing progress achieved so far, outlining current status, expected timelines, and clearly defined responsibilities for smooth execution. An Action Taken Report on directions issued during the previous meeting was presented, followed by focused discussions on strengthening coordination mechanisms, removing bottlenecks, and streamlining operational frameworks to accelerate implementation across States and Union Territories.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Cooperation attended the meeting in person, while Registrars of Cooperative Societies and State representatives participated virtually, reflecting a coordinated federal approach. The initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening rural institutional infrastructure, expanding access to cooperative services, and reinforcing the cooperative movement as a key driver of inclusive and sustainable rural development.
