WARANGAL, JANUARY 25, 2026: The National Girl Child Day was celebrated by Warangal Gp NCC with Grandeur at Kakatiya Degree College, Hanumakonda, Warangal on Saturday.
Accordingly, an inspiring programme was organised under the aegis of the 8(T) Girls Battalion, NCC, at the premises of Kakatiya Degree College. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of NCC girl cadets from Hanumakonda and Warangal districts, reflecting the growing confidence, discipline, and leadership qualities among young women.

The event was organised to highlight the importance of empowering the girl child and reinforcing gender equality in society. During the programme, the girl cadets emphasised that girls today are discharging their responsibilities in society on par with their male counterparts across all fields.

Addressing the gathering, Col Sachin Nimbalkar, Vir Chakra, Group Commander, NCC Warangal Group, stated, “The girl child of today is the backbone of tomorrow’s nation. Through discipline, education, and equal opportunities, girls are proving that they are capable of leading the nation in every sphere. NCC plays a vital role in shaping confident, responsible, and patriotic young women.” He also added that the nation is committed towards uplifting and empowering the girl children today to ensure a gender neutral progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Col S. M. Riyaz, Training Officer, remarked, “Empowerment of girls begins with self-belief and discipline. NCC training instils leadership qualities, social responsibility, and a sense of national service among girl cadets, enabling them to emerge as role models in society.”
Addressing the cadets, Lt Col D. V. Santosh Meher, Commanding Officer, 8(T) Girls Battalion, stated, “Our girl cadets have consistently demonstrated excellence, commitment, and resilience. By supporting one another and striving for excellence, they can ensure equal respect and representation for women in all walks of life. This day is to celebrate the power, potential and progress that today’s girl can make. He urged the girl cadets not only to dream big but also to work relentlessly towards making those dreams come true”.
Prof G Srinivas, Principal Kakatiya Government College, also graced the occasion and said “Today, education and its impact on girl children has grown phenomenally and has shown positive results towards nation building. The interest levels and the quest to excel displayed by the girls are wonderful, and are sure to accelerate in times to come. I congratulate the 8 Telangana Girls Battalion and Warangal Group for promoting this cause and encouraging the girls by organising such events”. He also praised the efforts of the girl cadets in the NCC and wished them all the best in their pursuit of excellence. He was joined by the Vice Principal and other faculty of the college, including their Associate NCC officer, Prasoona.
During the programme, the girl cadets collectively took a solemn pledge to work tirelessly to achieve higher positions in society, ensure equal respect and dignity for fellow girls, and remain at the forefront in all fields of endeavour. They resolved to support one another, contribute positively to society, and work towards building a just, inclusive, and progressive nation.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reiterating the message that empowering the girl child is essential for national development and social harmony.
