 
        
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, OCTOBER 31, 2025: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, located at Shatrajupalli in Vemulawada town, grandly celebrated the “National Unity Day” under the auspices of the NSS Unit.
In honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, the Government of India declared October 31st as National Unity Day in 2014. On this occasion, an awareness programme was conducted in the college on the theme “Unity in Diversity – The Spirit of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.”
The event was attended by Principal K. Lavanya, Vice Principal B. Sumalatha, NSS Programme Officer V. Swapna, Council Members G. Swapna and G. Rajini, along with faculty members and students.
During the programme, speeches highlighted Sardar Patel’s services, his role in national integration, and the importance of unity and patriotism among youth. The students took the Unity Pledge and expressed their patriotic spirit.
On this occasion, the speakers said that Sardar Patel was a great visionary who dedicated his life to strengthening the unity and integrity of India. He reminded everyone that Patel’s leadership was instrumental in integrating 565 princely states into a united nation after independence.
“Today is a day of pride and inspiration for every Indian as we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, who was India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister,” they stated and also reminded that Mahatma Gandhi had conferred on Patel the title of ‘Iron Man’ for his firm determination and exceptional leadership. He also recalled Patel’s contribution to the Kheda Movement (1918) and Bardoli Satyagraha (1928), which earned him the title of “Sardar” from the women of Bardoli.
