
WARANGAL, DECEMBER 24, 2025: The National Farmers’ Day celebrations were organised by the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Warangal, in coordination with Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendras of Warangal, Jogipet, and Thornala on Tuesday. The chief guest of the programme, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, R. Uma Reddy, along with farmers, paid tributes to the Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh for his contributions to the farming community. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that only if the soil is good, the farmers will be good and only if the farmers are good, the country will be good, so farmers should protect the soil.
A Vijaya Bhaskar, Senior Scientist and Coordinator, TRVK, Warangal, has delivered the topic on ‘alternate ID crops in cotton fallows and pest & disease management in yasangi maize’ and seed treatment in yasangi and summer sowing crops of pulses,sesamum and vegetables. Later, the scientists of various schemes of the research station and TRVKs thoroughly explained farmers about the profitable crops that farmers should take up, the fertilizer management, crop protection measures and methods for achieving high yields in Yasangi and clarified their queries. Also, various programs being carried out for the welfare of farmers under the auspices of the Agricultural University were explained through video documented success stories.
A large number of farmers, scientists and agricultural students participated in the programme, including coordinators A Vijaya Bhaskar, K Rahul Vishwakarma and Pallavi from the TRVKs of Warangal, Jogipet and Thornala in Central Telangana Zone, making the program a success.
