BRS working president KTR ensures the victory of the party in the Sircilla municipality
The Congress party failed to capitalise on the prevailing anti-incumbency factor following the two terms of the BRS regime in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 13, 2026: The Ministers of the integrated Karimnagar district have swept the Municipal elections in their respective constituencies by attaining more than an absolute majority during the counting of votes on Friday.
Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who represents the Manthani assembly segment of Peddapalli district, has ensured that the party candidates have won from Ramagundam Municipal Corporation, Manthani and Peddapalli municipalities in the elections.
Similarly, Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar strived hard for the victory of the Congress candidates from the Husnabad municipality. Out of 20 municipal wards, the Congress had won from 16 divisions.
Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar had also ensured that the Congress candidates had won from the Dharmapuri municipality in the elections. In the Dharmapuri segment, the Congress had won from all 15 municipal wards, and the BRS did not open its account. He also ensured the victory of party candidates from Jagtial Municipality.
The Congress party has lost the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation in the elections due to poor leadership and coordination among the party rank and file, despite the prevailing anti-incumbency factor. The Congress party did not capitalise on the anti-incumbency factor, such as destroying the Karimnagar town in the name of Smart City by converting the broad and wide roads into narrow roads. Encroachments of parks such as Circus ground and Multipurpose park, and converting them into ‘paid parks’. Encroachment of roads and footpaths, non-completion of vegetable markets and more issues. The BRS had failed to fulfill the promise of 24X7 water supply in Karimnagar town during its two terms.
Incidentally, Sircilla municipality represented by sitting BRS legislator and former Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, has ensured the victory of BRS in elections from Sircilla.
