
HYDERABAD, November 21: Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Prohibition & Excise, Tourism, and Archaeology, on Friday formally released the official brochure for the upcoming 107th Annual National Conference and Seminar on Numismatics at the Telangana Secretariat. This prestigious conference is being organised by the Department of Heritage, Telangana, in collaboration with the Numismatic Society of India (NSI).
The event holds historical significance for the state, marking the first time the major national conference will be held in Telangana since its formation. It aims to underscore the region’s rich historical and cultural importance through the specialised study of coinage, which is a core activity of the Heritage Department.
The two-day conference is scheduled to be held at the Dr MCR HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, on December 11th and 12th. The National Conference on Coins will serve as a vital platform for students, scholars, researchers, and numismatic experts from across India and Telangana. Participants will gather to discuss the historical, cultural, and artistic importance of coins, fostering significant dialogue and advancing research in the field of numismatics.
The brochure release event was attended by several key officials. These included Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture (YAT&C) Department, Government of Telangana; Professor Arjun Rao Kuthadi, Director, Department of Heritage; and Deputy Directors D. Ramulu and P. Nagaraju, all from the Department of Heritage.
