WARANGAL, JANUARY 27, 2026: The Department of Commerce & Business Management, Kakatiya Government College (Autonomous), Hanumakonda, organized the Merit Awards Presentation Programme today in the college seminar hall with the objective of recognising academic excellence and motivating students towards sustained academic and personal achievement.
The programme was conducted under the Chairmanship of the Principal, Prof. G. Srinivas, who, in his presidential address, congratulated the meritorious B. Com and BBA students and emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and value-based education in shaping successful careers.

The Vice-Principal, Rajanilatha, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to remain committed to their academic goals, appreciate opportunities provided by the institution, and strive for continuous self-improvement.
In his address, D. Rajashekar, Vice Principal & Head, Department of Commerce & Business Management, highlighted that merit awards are not merely rewards but symbols of perseverance, focus, and consistent effort. He urged students to pursue excellence beyond examinations, develop leadership qualities, and contribute meaningfully to society, stressing that education remains the strongest foundation for a successful life.
The IQAC Coordinator, A.Srinath, spoke about the significance of such academic initiatives in enhancing quality, institutional culture, and student motivation, and appreciated the department’s efforts in promoting excellence through recognition of merit.
The Merit Awards were generously sponsored by D. V. Bhaskar Rao, Retired Reader in Commerce, Kakatiya Government College (Autonomous), Hanumakonda, who attended the programme as Guest of Honour. In his address, Bhaskar Rao shared his academic experiences and reaffirmed his belief that a teacher’s responsibility continues beyond retirement through inspiration and mentorship. His initiative to institute cash awards was widely appreciated by the academic community.
The programme was further enriched by the presence of several senior retired faculty members, including Puli Sargapani, Satyanarayana, Mallareddy, former Principal Vara Prasad, and S. Vinodhar Rao.
On this occasion, senior retired faculty members of KGCA, Hanumakonda, graced the programme and delivered brief addresses, inspiring students with their rich academic insights and encouraging them to uphold the legacy of the institution. Addressing the students, S. Vinodhar Rao announced his intention to introduce a Gold Medal from the next academic year, which was warmly received and appreciated by the gathering.
As part of the programme, cash awards were presented to meritorious B. Com and BBA students of each semester in recognition of their outstanding academic performance. A student representative expressed gratitude to the donor, faculty, and management for their constant encouragement.
The programme witnessed active participation from the faculty members of the Department of Commerce & Business Management, including Chinna, Shivanag Sreenu, Yakub, B. Srinivas, Anil Kumar, G. K. Kumar, G. Srinivas, Naveen, Vandana, Vinay, Balachander, and Sunitha.
Students from all classes of B. Com and BBA participated enthusiastically in the programme, making it a grand academic success.
