But, they are according top priority for encroachment of Collectorate parking space by taking up plantation for ‘obvious’ reasons
The MCK officials are working as per their whims and fancies, causing a serious threat to the Collectorate without any parking space
The officials should focus on the removal of roadside vendors by shifting them to the mini-markets constructed in various parts of the town
The construction of the main market opposite to Collector’s camp office remained incomplete for the last five years
Officials should make their presence felt with a vision, but do not spoil the town with their illogical planning for personal reasons, as they are not permanent in Karimnagar
Shun the plan to take up plantation on the parking space of the Collectorate with a vision for the future requirement of parking space if they are really learned officials
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 11, 2025: Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK), who are according top priority for encroachment of parking place on the Collectorate premises by taking up plantation for ‘obvious’ reasons better known to them and erecting the fencing and congesting the roads and denying parking spaces on the pretext of dumping of garbage on the roads, are least bothered about the shifting of roadside vendors into the markets and mini-markets constructed by them in various parts of the town.
The construction of the market was taken up some five years ago, but still remains incomplete opposite the Collector’s camp office. There are several mini-markets constructed in Vavilalapalli, Sapthagiri colony, adjacent to the district jail premises, near SRR college and other places in the town, but they all remain unoccupied.
The mini-market at the PF office area was constructed for the fruit vendors, but it was let out to the blacksmiths and others following an accident in the Kothirampur road area a few years ago due to inefficient and illogical planning. The market adjacent to the district jail premises is encroached by the fruit vendors, and they have even occupied roads. In other places, the mini-markets remain empty as no traders sell their products on the premises.
Instead, the vendors occupy the already congested roads and cause serious traffic snarls. It is ironic to note that the administrators had laid a two-way lane with central lighting around the Ambedkar stadium, but the authorities removed the spacious roads and converted them into a single lane as part of the Smart city project, encouraging the street vendors to encroach the parking space and footpaths and some of them have even permanent signboards on the parking space.
The main vegetable market was demolished long back on the pretext of the construction of a modern market with all amenities, but in vain. It had forced the vendors to sell the products on the road. Fruit vendors occupy the parking space, but no action against.
But, the MCK is more concerned about the encroachment of parking places on the Collectorate premises, denying parking of vehicles opposite to the State Bank of India by taking up plantation of saplings for ‘obvious’ reasons. It is surprising to see that daily, more than 10 employees work on the encroached premises by taking out weeds and erection fencing around the plantation.
Thanks to the lethargy on the part of higher officials of the district administration, the MCK officials are acting as per their whims and fancies, causing serious problems to the people of the town. The officials should remember that the new Collectorate, which would be inaugurated very soon, does not have any parking space. With the officials planning to retain the existing Collectorate and relocate all the offices working from the rented premises, it would become chaotic with no parking space on the premises.
