Officials deny entry to devotees at the Maisamma temple to offer prayers
They removed the urinals on the premises and the cement benches for obvious reasons
MCK officials are working as per their whims and fancies, causing nuisance and inconvenience to the people of the town
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 07, 2025: Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar are bent on converting the premises of the Collectorate into a ‘concrete jungle’ by encroaching the parking space and garage spots in front of the SBI branch and also erecting the fence in Karimnagar town.
They are working as per their ‘whims and fancies’ without any vision and causing serious inconvenience to the visitors of the Collectorate. The MCK had removed the urinals adjacent to the Sulabh complex and now erected a barricade by taking up the plantation. They are even denying devotees entry to offer prayers at the Goddess Maisamma temple on the premises by erecting fencing and undertaking plantation work.
The officials should remember that the Collectorate was constructed by then Collector KS Sharma in the 1980s, and it was incidentally the first integrated Collectorate in the integrated Andhra Pradesh state, housing all government offices under one roof. They had created a parking space and garages for the parking of the vehicles on the premises with a vision.
But, the so-called learned MCK officials in spite of creating adequate parking space and garages, had been encroaching on the space and taking up plantation of the saplings and now erected fencing, causing serious inconvenience to the people visiting the Collectorate. The visitors of the Collectorate of the SBI branch are facing umpteen problems due to the encroachment of the parking place. The SBI officials are also crying foul over the denial of parking their cash vehicles in front of the bank.
Lok Satta Udyama Samtha leader KS Narayana said that the MCK officials should remember that they are not permanent employees in Karimnagar town and they should work with a vision and show their presence felt for the future generation. It is really ironic to see the encroachment of the parking space constructed by the then officials for the obvious reasons, he stated.
He suggested that the MCK officials reopen the Helipad park, which was constructed on the premises of the Collectorate, and take up plantation of saplings and provide recreational facilities to the people of the town. He also found fault with the officials for the removal of the cement benches installed in front of the Collectorate office chambers for obvious reasons that the people were sitting when they and their family members were moving on the premises.
It is also surprising to note that the Collectorate estate officer or the Administrative officer remains a mute spectator when the MCK officials encroach on the parking space on the Collectorate premises and causing traffic snarls. They should remember the traffic woes if there is a meeting of the officials of the integrated Karimnagar district with the arrival of elected representatives and the officials.
