
JAGTIAL, DECEMBER 22, 2025: National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SKNR Government Arts & Science College, Jagtial, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on Monday.
The programme was organised to create awareness among students about the importance of mathematics and inspire them towards logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and innovation.
The programme commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of National Mathematics Day and the remarkable contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan to the field of mathematics. The celebration aimed to instil scientific temper and problem-solving skills among students, which are essential in both academic and professional life.
Principal Prof. Ashok addressed the gathering and delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of mathematics in daily life. He emphasised that mathematics is not only a core academic subject but also a fundamental tool required in various fields such as science, technology, economics, engineering, and management. He further explained how strong mathematical skills enhance employability and help students succeed in today’s highly competitive world. The Principal also elaborated on the life, dedication, and extraordinary achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan, motivating students to pursue excellence and innovation.
The programme was further enriched by the presence of Vice Principal Prof. A. Srinivas, who encouraged students to develop analytical thinking and logical reasoning abilities. Lt. Parlappalli Raju and other faculty members shared their views on the relevance of mathematics in higher education and research.
Faculty members K. Surender, A. Govardhan, K. Srinivasa, Supriya, Rajitha, Pramod, Kavitha, Swarupa, Mahesh, and Gattaiah actively participated in the programme and contributed to its successful organisation. Various activities and interactions helped students gain a deeper understanding of the role of mathematics in real-life applications.
