KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 14, 2026: As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Tharuni Mitra awards were conferred to the eminent personalities and real heroes, who crusaded for the empowerment of womenfolk in the Telangana state.
The 10th Tharuni Mitra award ceremony was conducted at Dr BR Ambedkar Law College, Bagh Lingampalli, Hyderabad, on March 13, 2026. Hyderabad Metro Water Works and Sewerage Board Managing Director K Ashok Reddy participated as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ashok Reddy handed over the state-level awards to 16 persons, including Macha Ravinder from Karimnagar town. Mr Ashok Reddy said that Macha Ravinder had accepted to provide higher education to his wife and Aduvala Sujatha after the marriage. A beedi worker, Sujatha, has emerged as an eminent educationist, writer, poet and completed her PhD, under the guidance and support of her husband Ravinder.
Mr Ashok Reddy appreciated Ravinder for emerging as real hero in the empowerment of women.
