

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 12, 2025: Students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, celebrated the National Librarian’s Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, who is considered the “Father of Library Science in India”, on Tuesday.
Similarly, they also celebrated International Youth Day with great enthusiasm under the auspices of the NSS unit. Students actively participated in the programme, delivering speeches and songs highlighting the role of youth in national development and the importance of reading.
On this occasion, College Principal K. Lavanya paid floral tributes to the portrait of Ranganathan and stated, “August 12 is a day to remind the youth of their strength, dreams, and determination. It is a day that rekindles enthusiasm, courage, and the drive to bring change. Every great transformation in history has been powered by the youth. Therefore, we must utilise our energy, time, and talent wisely”.
Visiting the library fosters reading habits, enhances language skills, and cultivates creativity. It offers new perspectives and fresh ideas. As the library is a powerful tool for building our future, every student should dedicate time each day to reading books.”
