
BENGALURU, NOVEMBER 24, 2025: K V Prabhakar, media advisor to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka, assured the senior journalists in the state that their demands for better social security and welfare programmes would be supported by the Karnataka Government.
Inaugurating a convention of senior journalists from Bengaluru city and other parts of the state, organised by the Senior Journalists Federation of India and the Karnataka Senior Journalists Forum (HPV), at Bengaluru Press Club on Sunday, he said the senior journalists deserved better treatment from the state governments as well as from the Centre. His party and government would strive for their welfare.
The meeting, presided over by R P Sambasadasiva Reddy, HPV president, was addressed by N P Chekkutty, secretary general, SJFI, M A Ponnappa, former chairman of Karnataka Media Akademi, Anandam Pulipalupula, vice president, SJFI, K Shanthakumari, secretary, SJFI, K P Vijayakumar, general secretary, Senior Journalists Forum Kerala, T Bhupathi, Tamil Nadu, Shastri Ramachandran, Delhi, and others.

A large number of senior journalists attended the meeting and pledged support to the SJFI for ensuring social security for senior journalists in India.
