Visual pollution with posters has become a cause of concern in the so-called Smart City
When the Police launch a drive against drunken and rash driving to ensure law and order, why does MCK not launch a drive against the illegal posters, which are banned by the government
CM Revanth Reddy also wants a pollution-free city in the Telangana state
KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 28, 2025: It is time for the officials of the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) to launch a crusade against the illegal erection of pollution-causing vinyl posters by various sections of society on the eve of New Year celebrations in Karimnagar, causing visual pollution in various parts of the town.
When the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have decided to launch a special drive against rash and negligent driving, drunken driving, triple riding and hooliganism, why cannot the MCK launch a drive against the illegal erection of vinyl posters in various parts of the town, causing traffic nuisance with obstruction to the vision of the motorists?
On the occasion of the New Year and ensuing Sankranthi festivities, the illegal vinyl posters have come up in various parts of the town, including the residential colonie,s greeting the people. The posters would also come in public properties such as the Collectorate, MCK and other offices. But, the officials do not enforce the law to remove illegal and pollution-causing posters or educate the people by issuing any advisories.
The traffic islands in various parts of the town are cluttered with several vinyl posters, causing visual pollution in the town. As the posters greeted the people for New Year and Sankranthi festivities, means they would remain till the completion of the ensuing festival. It is time for the MCK officials to act on par with the police on the eve of the New Year and remove all illegal posters and ensure a clean and pollution-free city, which is the dream of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
