
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 10, 2025: The Department of Commerce and Business Administration of SRR Govt. Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, celebrated International Accounting Day in commemoration of the publication of the first book on the double-entry bookkeeping system by Luca Pacioli, who is widely regarded as the Father of Accounting, on 10 November 1494. Every year, this day has been celebrated as International Accounting Day since 1972.
Inaugurating the celebrations as a Chief Guest, CA Nadeem Hussain reiterated that the commerce graduates with in-depth subject knowledge coupled with communication skills have a plethora of employment opportunities as Junior Accounts Officers and Senior Accountants and Junior Accountants in organisations such as Electricity Companies, Municipalities, RTC, and BSNL. He advised the students to make the best use of these opportunities. He also emphasised that students can pursue professional courses such as CA, CMA, and CS for further career growth.
College Principal Prof. Kalvakunta Ramakrishna stated as trade and business are growing leaps and bounds, enormous employment opportunities are arising for Commerce Graduates and Post Graduates in terms of Accountants, Tax Consultants, and Auditors in the business, trade, and industrial sectors and urged the students to enhance their subject knowledge and communication skills to secure higher-level positions
Malla Reddy, In-charge Head of the Commerce Department, explained that International Accounting Day has been celebrated since 1972 to commemorate the publication of the book written by Luca Pacioli, the “Father of Accounting,” which was first printed on November 10, 1494. On this occasion, he explained the importance of accounting, the roles of accountants in organisations, and the knowledge and skills required to achieve them.
The event was attended by Vice Principal P. Nithin, In-charge Head of Commerce Department M. Malla Reddy, Autonomous Coordinator and Staff Club Secretary M.
