KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 23, 2025: Stated to be first of its kind in the Telangana state, the Karimnagar district administration has appointed a Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the School Education department in Karimnagar district.
Accordingly, DEO Ch Janardhan Rao issued orders to this effect recently. The DEO has appointed Manakondur MEO Madhusudhana Chary as the PRO. As per the orders, the new PRO would be managing the media, collecting the news press clips of education, giving press notes, organising press meetings etc.
The PRO would collect the best practices from the MEOs, Headmasters, and Teachers and share them with the press and media. He will also prepare press notes and share it to news channels and national media. He will also be involved in sharing of best practices of the schools in related WhatsApp groups.
He will also document the events, programmes, celebrations, and video recordings and keep the photos. The DEO instructed the MEOs and headmasters concerned to share the information with the PRO regularly.
The MEOs and headmasters had found fault with the system of appointing a PRO in the Education department. They suggested the government appoint PROs for the enrolment of students into the government schools and ensure that no government officer including the Collector attends the annual day and other functions of private schools as it was sending wrong message in the society.
