ARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 28, 2026: Doctors associated with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Karimnagar chapter have staged a dharna in front of the IMA hall in Karimnagar town on Saturday, denouncing attacks on doctors and the medical fraternity.
Wearing black badges, the doctors condemned the attack on the doctors and paramedical staff at Crayons Hospital in Hyderabad. The doctors demanded stringent action against accused persons.

They demanded the enactment of a Central Law: A primary demand is the passage of a strict central law to prevent violence against healthcare professionals, which should include non-bailable offences for perpetrators.

Implementation of State Protection Act: Strict application of the Telangana Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2008.
Increased Punishment: Amendments to the state law to ensure a minimum of seven years imprisonment for offenders.
