KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 06, 2026: The Indian Medical Association Karimnagar chapter, in association with the Association of Otolaryngologists of India ( AOI) Karimnagar chapter, conducted a free ENT camp and awareness camp to mark the World Hearing Day celebrations at the Government High School in Subhashnagar in Karimnagar town on Friday.
On this occasion, the ENT doctors conducted ear check-ups for the school students and spread awareness about hearing care.
PIMS ENT department Head Dr Ch Ramana Chary, along with his team, examined the ears of students and educated them about common ear-related ailments and their prevention. He said that the objective of the programme was to make children aware of ear diseases and encourage them to take proper care of their hearing. He advised students to maintain ear hygiene, avoid exposure to loud noises and undergo periodic check-ups to prevent hearing problems. Dr Ramana Chary also advised students to avoid excessive use of cell phones and earphones to protect their hearing.
The programme was graced by AOI Karimnagar President Dr. Sai Prasad Rao and AOI Secretary Dr. Ravikanth, with the support of IMA President Dr Akula Shailaja and IMA Secretary Dr N. Mahesh Babu. During the camp, free ENT check-ups, free hearing tests, and free medicines were provided to the students. More than 300 students benefited from the health camp.

IMA President Dr. A. Shailaja cautioned students not to insert foreign objects into the ear, nose, or throat. IMA Secretary Dr. N. Mahesh Babu advised students to avoid nose picking as it may lead to infections and other complications. Dr. Ravikanth explained the importance of early detection and prevention of hearing loss, while Dr. Sai Prasad Rao advised students to avoid excessive consumption of cool drinks and adopt healthy habits. As a token of appreciation, Dr. Neelima presented an IMA memento to the School Principal, Ravinder Garu.
The camp was supported by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Ramachandra, Dr. Vamsi Krishna, Dr. Manoj, Dr. Jadav Rajkumar, Dr. Prashanth, and Dr. Venkateshwarlu, along with other members of IMA and AOI Karimnagar. The program was a great success and created valuable awareness among students regarding ENT health and hygiene.
