
KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 16, 2025: The IDBI Bank has announced a donation of Rs 74,08,700 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to Lions Club of Karimnagar Dr Bhaskar Madekar Charitable Eye hospital, Rekurthi, Karimnagar town, for the establishment of three modular operation theatres and the purchase of an Ashok Leyland bus.
In a statement here on Tuesday, Lions Charitable Eye Hospital chairman Konda Venu Murthy said that the establishment of modular operation theatres would expand surgical capacity and improve the quality of eye care services and with the purchase of a bus, would enable mobile eye care services for the underprivileged communities in remote villages.
He said that the Lions Charitable Eye Hospital was conducting cataract, glaucoma, stent eyes and retina surgeries. He said that they were setting up the Retina department for Rs 5 crore, which is available only after Hyderabad city in Karimnagar. They were conducting free surgeries for every patient having white ration cards and crossed the age of 50 years on every Thursday.
