KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 04, 2026: The Holi (festival of colours) was celebrated grandly with natural colours by the students of Government Women’s Degree College, Karimnagar. The programme was organised with an eco-friendly approach, placing primary importance on environmental protection and health safety.
On this occasion, chemical colours were completely avoided, and natural colours were prepared using flowers and plant-based materials possessing medicinal value. Colours were prepared from Bixa flowers, turmeric powder, Moduga (flames of forest) flowers, Hibiscus flowers, Thangedu flowers, Oleander flowers, Marigold flowers, Rose petals, Aparajita (Butterfly pea) flowers, Beetroot, Carrot, and Chrysanthemum flowers. The students enthusiastically prepared the natural colours themselves and celebrated Holi with great joy and excitement.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, Prof. D. Varalaxmi. The Academic Coordinator, M. Manoj Kumar, along with Vidhya, R. Devender, Rekha Rani, Priyanka, Ravali, Anitha, Narayana, Mounika and other faculty members and staff participated and encouraged the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. D. Varalaxmi stated that celebrating Holi with natural colours helps in protecting both the environment and personal health. She encouraged students to develop love and respect for nature. Academic Coordinator M. Manoj Kumar explained the importance of natural resources and advised students to promote chemical-free celebrations.
The students actively participated and enjoyed the Holi celebrations with natural colours. The programme successfully created awareness about environmental protection, health precautions, and the importance of preserving traditional values.
