HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 03, 2026: A high-level meeting on compliance reduction and deregulation was held at the Secretariat todayon Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, along with Sukruti Lekhi, Secretary, Government of India.
During the meeting, Government of India officials complimented the State Government for its commendable performance in Phase I of the compliance reduction and deregulation reforms. They expressed confidence that the State would continue the same momentum and achieve similar success in Phase II as well.

The officials informed that Phase II of the initiative encompasses a total of 23 priority areas and 5 optional priority areas identified for implementation, aimed at further simplifying procedures and improving the ease of doing business.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao assured the Secretary, Government of India, that the State Government is fully committed to achieving the prescribed targets well ahead of the stipulated timelines. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure that the necessary legislation required for effective implementation of the reforms is taken up in the forthcoming Budget Session of the Legislature.
The meeting underscored the State Government’s resolve to proactively pursue regulatory reforms and strengthen governance mechanisms in line with national priorities.
MA&UD & YAT&C Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, I & C Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Forest Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Revenue Secretary Lokesh Kumar, MAUD Secretary T.K.Sreedevi, Revenue (CT & Excise) Secretary Raghunandan Rao, Agriculture Secretary Surendra Mohan and other officials attended the meeting.
