
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2025: Telangana Social Welfare Women’s Degree College, Naganur, celebrated Telugu Language Day under the supervision of the Telugu Department. On this occasion, the college Principal, T. Malathi, paid floral tributes to the portrait of Gidugu Ramamurthy.
Head of the Telugu Department, Erroju Venkateswarlu, explained in detail the remarkable contributions of Gidugu Ramamurthy, who led the movement for *Vyavaharika Bhasha (spoken language) and worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the Telugu language. Students also spoke about Ramamurthy’s life and sang songs highlighting the greatness of the Telugu language.
Prizes were distributed by the Principal, Malathi, to the winners of various competitions. Vice Principal S. Padmaja, Superintendent Suresh Kumar, ACO Vasumathi, Radhika, P.D. Parveen Begum, Renuka, and several other faculty members actively participated in the programme.
Later, the College celebrated National Sports Day under the supervision of the Physical Education department with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, the College Principal paid floral tributes to Major Dhyan Chand and highlighted his remarkable contributions to Indian sports.
Prizes were distributed to the students who won in various competitions. Students entertained the audience with cultural and sports activities. Physical Education students also shared information about the life and achievements of Dhyan Chand. Vice Principal S. Padmaja, Superintendent Suresh Kumar, ACO Vasumathi, Venkateswarlu, Radhika, P.D. Parveen Begum, along with other faculty members, participated in the programme.
