
MULUGU, SEPTEMBER 19, 2025: The Government Degree College (GDC) in Mulugu District took a meaningful step by adopting Boda Ramanna Gadda, a tribal village located in Jaggannagudem mandal, on Friday. This initiative was part of the college’s ongoing commitment to foster social responsibility and encourage community service among students.
During their visit, the college team distributed provision packs to 22 tribal families, showcasing their dedication to the community. The event was led by Principal K. Mallesham along with Vice Principal B. Balaiah, NAAC Coordinator and IQAC Co-coordinator S. Kavitha, and Academic Coordinator Ch. Bhaskar, along with Web Coordinator B. Jagdish, members of the IQAC team, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and numerous enthusiastic students. Together, they conducted awareness programs focused on health and hygiene, literacy, and women’s empowerment, underlining the importance of education, cleanliness, and equal opportunities for women within tribal societies.
Principal K. Mallesham expressed his appreciation for the active involvement of various college committees, including NSS Units I and II, which played a pivotal role in making the event a success. This initiative not only assisted tribal families but also offered students invaluable experiential learning opportunities, teaching them the significance of social responsibility, empathy, and community engagement.
Mallesham highlighted that the college’s adoption of Boda Ramanna Gadda reflects their vision of contributing to the holistic development of society and shaping responsible, empathetic citizens for the future. He stated, “By adopting Boda Ramanna Gadda, we aim at supporting the upliftment and development of the tribal community. This initiative integrates students and faculty with local communities to provide real-life learning experiences and to promote sustainable development practices in the village.”
 
 
Appreciating the efforts of IQAC and NAAC Coordinator Kavitha, Mallesham noted the critical role of the IQAC in planning, monitoring, and evaluating the village adoption program, ensuring its quality, effectiveness, and sustainability. The adoption of Boda Ramanna Gadda exemplifies GDC Mulugu’s commitment to social responsibility and community development. Through initiatives that combine education, health, and sustainability, the college is not only empowering tribal communities but also enriching the learning experiences of its students.
