KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 18, 2025: Mr Kotthireddy Malla Reddy, Associate Professor at the Government Degree College in Huzurabad, has been invited to attend the 2nd International Conference on Language Technologies for All (LT4ALL 2025) and the Silver Jubilee of International Mother Language Day at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from February 24 to 26, 2025.
The conference theme is “Advancing Humanism through Language Technologies,” which aims to promote language technologies for community empowerment. The event is part of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022-2032). It will gather experts to discuss the connection between language technologies, linguistic diversity, and sustainable development.
Mr Mallareddy will present a paper at the conference on Unified Language Interface to Address Linguistic Diversity through Technology for Indigenous Digital Inclusion in the Context of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He emphasizes that in a multilingual context, digital inclusion is vital for inclusive equitable quality education for all. To achieve this, India must leverage its Demographic Dividend and include regional languages in AI models to bridge the digital gap and eliminate language obstacles. India’s Vision Viksit Bharat 2047 aims to establish the country as a developed nation by its centenary of independence, focusing on digital inclusion, inclusive growth, sustainable development, and better governance. Challenges include unequal internet access, low digital literacy, and insufficient digital content in languages spoken by smaller communities. To improve digital inclusion, research gaps in artificial intelligence should be addressed and accessible digital platforms in Indigenous languages should be created.
He suggested establishing a Unified Language Interface (ULI) for Indian languages akin to the Unified Payment Interface. Conference Attendance is by invitation expected to 400 participants, including representatives from UNESCO and various sectors. The organizers hope to create conclusions and recommendations for UNESCO from the conference discussions.
Principal P Indira Devi, TGCGTA State General Secretary K Surender Reddy, ID college Principal, Prof Kalvakunta Ramakrishna, Academic Coordinator K Lingareddy, IQAC Coordinator B Renuka, Staff Club Secretary K Narender and other staff members congratulated him on his UNESCO invitation.
