
JAGTIAL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2025: The ‘Taste of Goodness of Nutrition’, a mega food festival, was organised by NSS and Health Club of the Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, on Tuesday.
Students enthusiastically participated in the festival by cooking and bringing various nutritious food items for display. Nearly 40 varieties of dishes were prepared and presented.
In-charge Principal Pramod Kumar stated that since the government has declared September as Nutrition Month, this programme was taken up to explain to students the importance of a balanced diet. He appreciated the efforts of the NSS programme officers and the Health Club coordinator.
The NSS program officers Sangeeta Rani, Sujatha, and Srilatha explained that nowadays, students, in their craze for dieting and achieving zero size, are neglecting a balanced diet, which leads to health issues like anaemia and weakness. Hence, this program was organised to create awareness.
Health Club coordinator Neeraja also elaborated on the significance of a balanced diet. The programme was attended by the College Vice-Principal Chandrayya, senior faculty members Raheem, Vasavi, Varaprasad, Ramachandram, Mallikarjun, Sunitha, Satyam, Jamuna, Irfan, Yasmin, Khaseem Ali Baig, Joshna, Sangeetha, Susmitha, Naresh, and several other lecturers.
