KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 07, 2025: The Department of Economics, Government Degree and PG college, Jammikunta, Faculty and students distributed fruits to the handloom weavers and allied workers at Balaji Handloom Society, Jammikunta, on the occasion of National Handloom Day on Thursday.
The in-charge principal, S. O. Kumar, praised the importance of the handloom sector during the period of the National movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi. Rajendram, head Department of Economics, illustrated the reasons for the declining handloom sector. Later, the faculty and students distributed fruits and sweets to handloom weavers and allied workers.
