
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18, 2025: Under the auspices of the Department of Zoology, S.R.R. Government Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, and Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, essay writing and elocution competitions were conducted focusing on environmental protection, awareness, and pollution control on Thursday.
On this occasion, Senthil Kumar, IT Officer from the Centre for Marine Biology, Annamalai University, emphasised that every student should be aware of the importance of environmental protection. He highlighted that every living being in nature is interconnected with humanity, and hence, protecting nature is crucial for human survival.
Ayodhya Reddy, faculty member of the Zoology Department, stated that the limited water resources on Earth are extremely valuable. However, due to pollution, these resources are becoming unusable for living organisms. Therefore, he stressed the need to conserve water resources.
During the event, TGCGTA State General Secretary Kadaru Surender Reddy, Head of the Zoology Department K. Kiranmayi, and faculty members Thota Mahesh, Ravinder Rao, E. Samatha, T.Preethi, M. Sai Charan, participated and distributed certificates of appreciation and prizes to the students who excelled in the competitions. All the dignitaries congratulated the winners.
Subrahmaniam from Annamalai University, Prof. K.Ramakrishna, principal of SRR GOVT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE appreciated the Department of Zoology for conducting competitions and awareness programme.
