JAGTIAL, MARCH 27, 2026: Eminent Historian Dr Jaishetty Ramanaiah has passed away due to age-related ailments in the early hours of Friday. Ramanaiah, who has been bedridden for the past some time, breathed his last at around 3 am. He is 88 years old. He was survived by two sons and two daughters.
A retired history lecturer, Ramanaiah, wrote books on the history of temples in Karimnagar. “Karimnagar Zilla Charitra and Samskruthi’ is one among the few books written by him.
Moreover, he is the teacher of the BRS founder president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. While working as a history lecturer in Siddipet Junior College, Ramanaiah taught Chandrashekhar Rao.

Chandrashekhar Rao honoured his mentors by felicitating them when the BRS government came to power in 2014. In May 2024, the BRS chief visited the house of Ramaiah in Jagtial and comforted him.
Chandrashekhar expressed his condolences over the death of his mentor. Final rites of Ramanaiah will be held in Jagtial on Saturday.
